Christian Headcovering Links

The Journey of the Veil, a blogspot, is the united effort of three ladies who cover to share information and encouragement to Christian ladies who are interested in or who have already chosen to cover their heads, according to 1 Corinthians 11. Testimony of Grace, an older blog full of information and encouragement from a lady who gathered testimonies from many of us to include in a book, which she has linked on her page. She also has links to many other ladies who cover, and that is comforting, knowing that we are still surrounded by a great crowd of witnesses to the store of blessing and responsibility connected with this small bit of cloth we wear on our heads. I'm so encouraged to read her personal story, and that she is still covering today after choosing to do so back in 2008. Keep up the good work and example, "Muhala"! :)

Just came across this study in a series at "Faithguard": "Christ As God's Wisdom: Women's Role In Worship, And How To Partake Of The Lord's Supper: 1 Corinthians 11". The study includes God's creation order, ("Although a woman is under authority in her role in life, she is equal to man in her position in Christ (11-12; Galatians 3:28). This type of relationship is illustrated in the person of Christ. Although He is equal to God in position (Philippians 2:6ff.), He always submits to the will of the Father in His role and practice (cf. Hebrews 10:7-9)"), and a short discussion on the differences of opinion regarding when she is to cover, whether hair is that covering, and whether or not this as a cultural tradition. The conclusion: "It seems clear from this passage, that women are equal to men in their position in christ, but should voluntarily show submission in their role and function, just as Christ is equal but submissive to God the Father."
